Classavo acceptable use policy
Classavo acceptable use policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") describes activities that are not allowed on the Classavo platform and services (the "Services"). It applies to all users of the Services, including Students, Instructors, and Institution administrators. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service and Master LMS Integration and Campus Services Agreement.
This AUP is incorporated by reference into the Terms of Service and the Master Agreement. Violations may result in suspension or termination of access, in addition to any other remedies available to Classavo or your Institution.
If you become aware of a violation, please report it to support@classavo.com.
1. General Principles
You agree to use the Services only for legitimate educational purposes and in compliance with applicable law, your Institution's policies, and this AUP. Do not use the Services to cause harm to others, to circumvent your Institution's academic standards, or to undermine the security or integrity of the platform.
2. Prohibited Content
Do not upload, post, share, or transmit content that:
you do not have the right to share, including copyrighted textbooks, test banks, solutions manuals, PDFs, articles, videos, or media without proper license or authorization;
infringes any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other intellectual property right;
contains malware, viruses, ransomware, spyware, or any other malicious code;
is obscene, sexually explicit, or pornographic;
is defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or any other protected characteristic;
depicts or promotes violence, self-harm, or harm to others;
contains personal information about another individual that you do not have permission to share;
impersonates another person, organization, or entity;
is fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading.
3. Academic Integrity
The Services support teaching, learning, and assessment. Do not use the Services to:
engage in or facilitate cheating, plagiarism, contract cheating, or any other form of academic misconduct;
share assignment answers, quiz responses, or exam content with other students in violation of your Institution's policies;
submit work generated by AI tools as your own when prohibited by your Institution or Instructor;
coordinate with other students to circumvent academic integrity expectations;
alter, falsify, or misrepresent grades, attendance, submissions, or other academic records.
Each Institution and Instructor sets specific academic integrity policies. Follow them. Classavo cooperates with Institutions investigating academic misconduct.
4. AI Features
Classavo's AI Features are designed to support learning, not to replace it. Do not:
use AI Features to generate content for submission as your own work in violation of Institution or Instructor policies;
attempt to manipulate, jailbreak, or override AI Feature safety controls;
submit prompts intended to extract Classavo's underlying models, training data, system prompts, or proprietary information;
use AI Features to generate prohibited content described in Section 2;
rely on AI-generated output as authoritative or accurate without independent verification.
AI-generated output may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any output before relying on it.
5. Privacy and Personal Information
Do not:
share, post, or distribute personal information about other users (including other students, instructors, or staff) without their consent;
attempt to access another user's account, submissions, grades, or personal information;
record, screenshot, or redistribute private communications, course materials, or assessments in violation of Institution policy or applicable law;
input sensitive personal information into AI Features or free-text fields where it is not necessary for the educational purpose (including Social Security numbers, government identifiers, payment card numbers, biometric data, or information about reproductive health, immigration status, sexual orientation, or gender identity).
6. Security
Do not:
attempt to access any part of the Services, systems, networks, or data that you are not authorized to access;
attempt to disrupt, interfere with, or degrade the Services, including through denial-of-service attacks, flooding, or excessive automated requests;
introduce malware, exploit security vulnerabilities, or otherwise compromise the Services;
conduct penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, security research, or red-team activities against the Services without Classavo's prior written consent;
bypass or attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limiting, access controls, or other security measures;
share, sell, or transfer your login credentials to another person;
use credentials that are not your own;
use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Services without Classavo's prior written consent.
If you discover a security vulnerability, report it to security@classavo.com. Classavo will not pursue legal action against good-faith security researchers who follow responsible disclosure practices.
7. Commercial Use and Competition
Do not:
use the Services for unauthorized commercial purposes;
resell, sublicense, or transfer access to the Services to third parties;
use the Services to build, train, or improve any product or service that competes with Classavo;
copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of the Services or any part of them;
extract, scrape, or harvest content from the Services for use outside the platform without authorization;
use the Services to send unsolicited commercial communications (spam) to other users.
8. Compliance with Law and Institution Policy
You will:
comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws when using the Services, including laws regarding intellectual property, privacy, export controls, sanctions, and electronic communications;
comply with your Institution's policies on academic integrity, acceptable use of technology, privacy, harassment, and conduct;
comply with applicable accessibility standards when uploading content;
not use the Services in any jurisdiction where their use would violate local law.
9. Enforcement
Classavo may, at its discretion and without prior notice:
remove content that violates this AUP;
suspend or terminate accounts that violate this AUP;
report violations to the user's Institution or to law enforcement when appropriate;
cooperate with Institution investigations of suspected violations.
Classavo does not actively monitor user content but may review content in response to reports, automated detection signals, or to investigate suspected violations.
For Institutions, enforcement actions related to Institution administrators or large-scale violations will be coordinated with the Institution's primary contact under the Master Agreement, except in cases of urgent security or legal risk.
